The Board of Trustees have a new volunteer opportunity for a finance professional to join our charity based in the North West.
Gift of a Wedding is a small charity with a low income from fundraising; we currently run entirely with volunteers who coordinate organisation of weddings supported by the gift of services from wedding suppliers.
About the role
Gift of a Wedding is a small charity with a low income from fundraising; we currently run entirely with volunteers who coordinate organisation of weddings supported by the gift of services from wedding suppliers.
We are looking for a new Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees as we embark on delivering a new Strategic Plan to widen our reach and increase our fundraising.
The Board consists of volunteer Trustees from a range of backgrounds, who play a vital role in the organisation to guide its development. Board meetings are held in person four times per year in the Manchester area. In addition, you may be invited to attend occasional sub-meetings on-line, with the charity closing in August and December.
Our ideal candidate
We are looking for someone with a professional qualification in accountancy (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent finance experience, e.g. in the banking sector or a charity finance manager. In practice this means you will be able to interpret financial accounts and advise on financial policy improvements to our Board.
You will have a clear understanding and commitment to our charitable mission and be able to work closely with the charity’s CEO and our appointed Accountancy firm.
The role of Treasurer is a voluntary one and the appointment is for three years. The appointment can be renewed for a second term.
