About the organisation

KENRIC was founded in 1965 by lesbians in the Kensington and Richmond areas of London and we’re now the UK’s longest-running lesbian social group. We provide a mix of enriching and enjoyable social events.  Our monthly newsletter and programme of online and face-to-face events connect lesbians around the country.

About the role

Summary of Duties

·       Ensure that proper accounting records are kept, supporting documentation is stored appropriately and financial resources are properly controlled.

·       Lead in the development of financial policies and oversee the charity’s financial risk management.

·       Ensure the organisation operates efficiently, economically and effectively and that value for money is achieved.

·       Monitor and advise on the financial viability of the organisation.

·       Oversee, review and monitor financial controls and systems.

Tasks

·       Prepare annual budget and cashflow

·       Prepare event budgets

·       Use online banking system

·       Update bank mandates

·       Pay suppliers and reimburse MC expenses

·       Download bank statements and transactions

·       Complete monthly bank reconciliation

·       Prepare monthly management accounts for finance sub-group

·       Submit monthly report to the main committee

·       Prepare P&L statements for individual events and present to MC

·       Carry out financial analyses and cost exercises

·       Liaise with MC members

·       Contribute to/join sub groups and committees

·       Prepare year end accounts for examination and present to members at the AGM

·       Attend monthly MC meetings

·       Monitor Treasurer mailbox and respond to queries

Our ideal candidate

This is an opportunity for a lesbian to be part of the team working to deliver KENRIC social activities for our members. You will need to become a member of KENRIC

 

Financial background- ideally qualified accountant /bookeeper

·       Experienced Excel user

·       Familiar with online systems (banking and other platforms)

·       Well organised team player
